In anticipation of a loss, or immediately following a loss, a Madeline’s Mission team member can be there to help connect families to resources.
One of the first gifts Madeline’s Mission seeks to provide a grieving family is a kit to capture last handprints and footprints on canvas, and fingerprint jewelry or keychains. This priceless keepsake is something families can treasure forever.
Additionally, a trauma-informed member from Madeline’s Mission will meet with the family to do an assessment of how to best serve the family in their immediate need. This can include transportation assistance, arranging meals, meeting with existing care teams, providing crisis information, and providing a listening ear. We can also help with the immediate logistics of removing any triggering items from the home or talking through available options with the family.
Each loss is different, as is the immediate need of the grieving family. Most importantly, Madeline’s Mission wants the family to feel supported and loved as they face their new reality.
